and welcome to my doll scrapbook! here, you can find pictures and reviews of various dolls and figures i own from american girls to animanga figurines.
i have been gifted many dolls since i was was little and have purchased several more. i like dolls and what they represent for me: childhood, fond memories, and the strength to be anything you want to be.
i hope you enjoy my scrapbook!

My first entry in my doll scrapbook is actually one of my latest additions to my collection! wow!
(by elysiansugar)I was very fortunate to acquire this figure in person in akihabara, japan. i couldn't believe the price when i got her, and she is so beautiful!
luka is one of my favorite vocaloids. so when i saw this, i decided to snatch it up!
this figure is pvc and approximately eight inches tall. she came with a stand which she connects to via two little tiny pegs on her foot (i'm afraid they might break off but so far they've been okay!)
the sense of movement and design is amazing; the bounce of her hair and the delicacy of her pose is so pretty to look at! some parts of her (her arm and hands) seem a little fragile but she survived in a suitcase across the world so i think i can't complain too much!
construction (form):
nicely constructed but a few fragile points. gesture is very natural.
quality (appearance):
absolutely beautiful. color is saturated and blends well with one another, expression matches gesture.
craftsmanship (details):
stunning. material thickness and form varies based on real life qualities, everything is so smooth and polished.
i'm so thankful to have her!
with the purchase of my luka figure and the second figure that i got in akihabara, japan (technically the first, though, since i saw her first) is a hatsune miku figure: love sailor in purple! she is just so adorable!
(via carouselofcurses)i purchased luka-chan and miku-chan from the same shop. however, before i found the shop, i saw miku in a crane game arcade. i fell in love with her but i knew i couldn't win her in the game without losing all my money i was so lucky to find her in a figure shop down the street!
(by digiworm)this figure is molded in a sitting position, meaning that she is meant to dangle her legs off of the side of a shelf or table (and it's the cutest thing ever!!). she's approximately five and a half inches tall and has so many cute details.
construction (form):
good construction but a lot of fragile points. i do have to admit that those points make her very life-like, though!
quality (appearance):
very nice! not as clean as luka (i notice a few places where the paint doesn't line up with the shape of the figure) but i arguably like the color combination better. the pink ends of her twin tails are translucent, which i cannot decide if i like or not. it just feels out of place because there are no other translucent parts on her.
craftsmanship (details):
beautiful, i would give it six stars if i could. material thickness and form varies based on real life qualities just like luka, and every time i look at her i notice something new. the wrinkles on her clothes are especially well done. she looks like she could get up and start walking!
i feel like i may being too critical in my ratings because i do really love her and i would recommend purchasing her! i just don't want to ruin her by breaking off a fragile part of her
she's just so overwhelmingly cute!! and if you don't like the purple version, there's also the blue and pink version you can add to your collection. (via imagefire)
see you next time!
